MEET JESSE IRELAND

Jesse Ireland has been an ongoing active volunteer and leader within Regina's gender and sexually diverse (GSD) community for an extensive amount of time. His community involvement began in 2011 when he joined the Board of Directors of Regina Pride Inc, the non-profit organization responsible for organizing and producing Regina's annual Queen City Pride festival. Here, he was honoured to represent the organization as Co-Chair for the majority of his time while also taking on many additional responsibilities including event planning, sponsorship acquisition, talent scouting, and many more secretarial duties. While challenging at times, navigating the ever changing needs and desires of Regina's GSD community, the continual positive growth of the festival and the engagement of the community year after year offered a great sense of fulfillment and accomplishment.
Jesse slowly began overlapping his work for the Pride festival with a new interest, drag. In 2016, Jesse's drag persona, Adora Diamond, appeared. He has been thrilled and privileged to engage and entertain a vast number of groups both big and small, working with numerous organizations and businesses across the province to perform, host events, organize shows, and raise money for some very needy causes and community initiatives.
Continuing his volunteer work, Jesse got involved with the work of the Bread Basket Sisters. As Vice President of the organization, his extensive efforts helped the Sisters expand their engagement further, become more active, and continue their work in local and international activism.
Jesse has demonstrated that he strives to maintain a connection with his local GSD community, working with local businesses and organizations. He looks forward to continuing his involvement and sees no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
